188 years ago today, with a few exceptions, slavery ended in the former British Empire. Although the Slavery Abolition Act was in 1833, it was not enforced until August 1, 1834. 🙅🏿‍♂️ Happy Emancipation Day West Indians/Caribbean People!! 🙅🏾 #EmancipationDayInTheCaribbean
