⛔️ Traffic Advisory - Halifax County: HWY 7 (Marine Dr) is closed due to a forest fire in the community of Ostrea Lake, between Pond Rd & Striker Lane. Ostrea Lake Rd is also closed in the area. Evacuations are underway. Follow emergency directions. Avoid area. #hfxtraffic

Update 3:35 p.m.: Officers continue to assist with evacuations. If you’re located between 600 Ostria Lake Rd. and Hwy. 7 or live on an adjacent road exiting onto Ostria Lake Rd. between civic 10 and 600 evacuate now heading north to Hwy. 7 then west to #MusquodoboitHarbour.

DNR is fighting an out of control wildfire in Ostrea Lake Road area. Estimated at 35 hectares. We have 12 firefighters and a helicopter on the scene, along with local fire departments. RCMP Nova Scotia and Halifax Fire managing some evacuations.
