With a sad sigh, the mother sat quietly on the sofa, watching her son sleep with his head in her lap. She had stayed up watching movies with Kouta all evening, but found it difficult to keep focus on the television screen. She was still in mourning for her deceased husband..

“Kouta..”

“I'm.. I'm so sorry. You must have had to suffer so much after... all that's happened.”

A hand was placed gently on his head as she smiled. “Sorry, sorry, that wasn't my intention. Don't worry, I'm sure it's just my exhaustion that's talking.”

“That's true.” She used her other hand to rub her eye with her palm. “Thank you for putting up with a lousy parent like me. I shouldn't be so tired all the time.”
