Everyone at Deep South Today is honored to be hosting AJPalooza 2025 here in New Orleans, and it’s been a pleasure to reunite with friends and colleagues who are engaged in the important work of sustaining and growing local news across our country.

The research presented at today’s Trust in Practice Summit by Pew Research Center underscores why Deep South Today’s work is so important in the region we serve. One finding is that local news (like that by Mississippi Today and Verite ) is more trusted than other sources.
