Track-weighted PET connectome: a method to combine PET and MRI fibre-tracking to define a patient-specific PET connectome (dx.doi.org/10.1002/hbm.26…). We applied it to ADNI dementia data. Work from PhD thesis of Zhuopin (Pin) Sun, +collaboration with Steven Meikle & Sharon Naismith

Methodology research is an intense process mentally & emotionally - this rarely gets mentioned so thought I would share that it’s something I struggle with personally It’s all consuming as your brain keeps trying to solve problems & generate solutions Exciting & exhausting 1/n

Happy to share that my first first-author paper is out The Lancet! Here, we present a case of PMO, a striking neurological condition of visual perception that causes faces to appear distorted, and the first photorealistic visualizations of how these distortions are seen.

The people have asked for a color-blind scheme, better labelling, and access to data. The people shall receive what they want (except for appropriate salaries) Link to data: github.com/mongiardino/as…

Are brain networks overlapping?? Maybe the idea will finally become mainstream :-) Amazing resource (atlas) by Damien Fair and large group, congrats. nature.com/articles/s4159…

Happy #FluorescenceFriday! Radial glia (🔵) cells are the first neural stem cells to appear during embryonic development. They form these long temporary structures, guiding the newborn neurons (🟣) to their final position in the cortical layers of the mammalian brain 😍🧠.

OH GOD! It's the first time to see the mobile MRI?! I guess it can not offer high-resolution image? but it could make MRI studies use randomized sampling at least to achieve less biased stats?

UPDATED: When I teach Principal Component Analysis (PCA), I use my interactive dashboard with my students so they observe how, through an orthogonal transformation (rotation) of a 2-feature dataset, the variance of the data projected onto one of the components can be maximized.

Very cool paper by Ian Hohm et al. on seasonal changes in moral values. People endorse the moral foundations of purity, loyalty, authority more strongly in spring and autumn, in part due to increases in anxiety. Yet more evidence that feelings matter. pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pn…
