St Hilda's Church at Hinderwell dates from 1773 & replaced a C12 structure. St. Hilda was born in 614 & became the founding abbess of the monastery at Streonshalh (now Whitby) & in 679 another at Hackness. The organ came from Selby Abbey in 1911 - a 'modern' addition.
