DOJ has alleged constitutional violations in Alabama’s men’s prisons. So this is all going on while the feds are watching. wvtm13.com/article/alabam…

⚠️ TOMORROW, the Senate could vote to send thousands in home confinement back to federal prison. This is not only unfair and unjust, but it's a bad idea. Data shows that home confinement dramatically reduces recidivism & more. Tell The White House to VETO ❌ act.dream.org/sign/keep-them…

Judge acknowledges prisoner has terminal cancer but denies compassionate release, citing need for “general deterrence.” You see, if this guy is released, everyone in prison is going to want a terminal disease. Or something. wbaltv.com/amp/article/ju…

This is false. Trump AG Bill Barr set the criteria for CARES Act home confinement. One of rules: People were not eligible if they had any violence in their record. You will find Bigfoot before you find a "violent criminal" on CARES Act home confinement. Both are mythical beings.

🐴💩 This policy has been one of the most successful in the history of modern penology...the recidivism rate improved by a massive amount over general releases and "violent criminals" were excluded from eligibility Wardens chose who was eligible & could bring them back at any

There’s no reason to send 3,000 members of society back to federal prison. Let’s celebrate government getting out of the way and helping people get back on their feet, rather than waste millions of tax dollars with absolutely ZERO public safety benefit. thehill.com/opinion/crimin…

Jason Pye 🇺🇦 Chuck Grassley But at the very least, at a time when overcrowding and understaffing is endemic, we should not be trying to send 3,000+ folks who are succeeding beyond our wildest dreams back to prison…we should be holding a parade, not punishing them and their families

Jason Pye 🇺🇦 Chuck Grassley And according to the largest meta-analysis ever done, prison, even accounting for incapacitation, creates more crime than it solves. We are investing all of our treasure in the wrong solutions…when something else works, we should not kill it, we should embrace it

Another stellar day on the Hill for the Dream team. As tough as Congress is these days, we won't stop fighting for criminal justice reform, including for oversight of the federal Bureau of Prisons.

Another day, another incredible Day of Empathy event, this time in Arkansas. We're constantly inspired by the community leaders and activists who show up and remind us that there are plenty of good people doing good work around this country.

.President Donald J. Trump thank you for your continued use of your clemency powers as your term in office comes to a close. However, we remain steadfast in our advocacy for clemencies that bring people out of the federal prison system and reunite them with their families.
