Walking Malta is working on some interactive web maps that link safe walking routes between localities. Do you know how long it would take you to walk to your neighbouring localities? Which routes would you like to see on our maps? Let us know!

Pedestrian mobility should play an integral part in any transport project. Poor infrastructure & isolated measures compromise safety & discourage people to walk. While new road projects are announced and completed every month, this subway is desperately asking for attention...

Your next walk to university might have a reward. Just a small gift to thank you for choosing to walk and being part of the solution 🚶‍♀️☕️🍪🚶

Check out this thread. When urban design is implemented without considering everyday pedestrians and cyclists' experiences and local knowledge... is often bound to fail

Promising to see walking being considered as a legitimate means of transport in Malta. Plenty of room for improvement, but looking forward to seeing more paths all around. Pls, make sure you consider pedestrians’ needs and concerns before you design and implement them accordingly

We give pedestrians like you a real say in urban mobility planning in Malta. Walking Malta participated in a public consultation on urban mobility organised by San Gwann Local Council, where key ministers & stakeholders heard about your pedestrians' experiences & concerns.

Understanding road accidents is the first step to improving road safety. Here is an article co-authored with Therese Bajada, PhD about pedestrian fatalities and injuries. There is a 50-day free access if you are interested to read it! sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
