Huge congratulations to Tony Hudgell on becoming the youngest ever recipient of a New Year’s Honour. Tony, an Honorary Society Member, was awarded the BEM. He’s raised enormous sums for good causes, including over £50k for charities from his challenge walk up Orrest Head.

Delighted to report that our fundraising for Mountain Rescue Cumbria over 2023/24 raised the incredible sum of £12,750. Massive thanks to everyone who helped raise this fantastic sum. We appreciate your support. This year our fundraising efforts will support Fix the Fells.

Delighted to hand over a cheque for £12,750 last month to to the LDSAMRA at Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team’s Gosforth base. Mountain Rescue has a number of projects to fund, and we're happy for our donation to be used in whatever way will best meet MR’s operational requirements.

📷Our 2025 Calendar is now available to buy on the Society’s website. This year all profits will go to Fix the Fells. We're working with the Lake District Foundation with the aim of doubling our contribution through the “Big Christmas Give”. Help us support this excellent cause.
