The Flatbush Development Corporation needs government funding so that they can hire the pest control and maintenance people to clean the plaza. thecity.nyc/brooklyn/2021/…

Merchants along Newkirk Plaza in Brooklyn complain about massive rat infestation. Blake Morris says plaza, which sits above a subway station, is not owned by any government entity so little is being done. #1010WINS

We are sorry to inform you that our neighbor, founding ExCo member, and healthcare hero Ellen Bilofsky, has passed on. We will keep Ellen’s memory alive by fighting for Medicare for All and the New York Health Act, justice, equality, and a refusal to suffer bullshit.

These meetings have not been safe spaces, from some screaming at some, shame them for their votes to this incident last night. No women, no Latino or anyone should go into a meeting & exposed to sexual language or demeaning and derogatory personal comments. This is unacceptable.

These DL ExCo meetings are not a safe space. I’ve witnessed yelling & disrespectful comments directed Samy Nemir Olivares & @Julio_PenaBK in the past. Votes are publicly commented on in a way to intimidate. Every time these meetings are scheduled, I feel a sense of anxiety & dread.

Stealing District Leader seats that were for the Red Hook community by placing non-residents in them just so you can pad your majority. If it wasn't so brazen, I would be impressed.

At the New York State Democratic Committee meeting this Thursday, I will be introducing a resolution calling on our party to support ranked choice voting (RCV) for all primary elections in NY. 🧵 drive.google.com/file/d/14rTCDX…

Well hello there everyone 👋 we just wrapped the Exec meeting / DL meeting ~ an hour ago. What a day!! My main update for the day is that my vacancy appoint slate lost the vote. (🧵1/3)

BK dems are leaving tight races to dry, not donating to their campaigns, and are throwing a $5,000 plate gala instead. No GOTV infrastructure, most coming from WFP to keep its own ballot line. NY State Dems totally absent as well. This party does not care what happens to you.

🧵Good thing Sam Mellins did the follow-ups and asked Yamil Speight-Miller for data to back up the 300k number (e.g. how voter contacts & positive IDs there were) and how mathematically there would need to be over 100 callers making calls 12 hours straight. #goodjournalism

Former D22 Community Education Council President Jess Byrne (and our former ExCo member) visited us to tell us about CECs, the history of PLACE, and how they mask right-wing anti-LGBTQ and anti-racial equity values with their pursuit of "academic rigor." youtu.be/j5d-QAByqoQ
