REMEMBERING MARTYRS: On this day in 2002, Martin Burnham, a missionary in the Philippines, was killed in a firefight between the Philippine Army and the Islamist group that had kidnapped him and his wife.

Sri Lanka: Pray for Pastor Sam, who boldly proclaims the gospel in the face of aggression and opposition.

Afghanistan: Pray that many Afghans will hear the gospel through social media and broadcast sources.

Kenya: Hussein accepted Christ 20 years ago and has continuously faced opposition for his Christian faith. His property was taken, his wife left him and he is isolated from his children. Pray for Hussein as he longs to reconnect with his family. bit.ly/3SHPWMW

Mauritania: Pray for those who hand-carry Bibles into the country at great risk.

As Pastor Raymond Koh drove to work on Feb. 13, 2017, in Malaysia, several vehicles surrounded his car and forced him off the road. Within 40 seconds, the men shoved the pastor into one of their vehicles and disappeared. Koh had received death threats for his ministry.

Somalia: Pray that many young people in Somalia who become disillusioned with Islam will turn to Christ.

Many Christians have lost what it means to be “living sacrifices” (Romans 12:1), but our persecuted Christian family understands the profound blessings that we experience when we are willing to be Christ’s witnesses, no matter the cost.

Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC): Pray for the emotional and spiritual healing of Christians who have experienced violent attacks.

In June of 1900, John and Sarah Young, a missionary couple, were ordered to evacuate China as the Boxer Rebellion was underway. On their route, they were detained by soldiers and ordered to stop preaching foreign religion. They said they could not and were immediately killed.

China: Pray for imprisoned Chinese Christians, like Wang Yi and Fu Xuanjuan.

Esther Koh struggled with anxiety and depression during the years of waiting for answers and fighting for justice after her father, Raymond, was kidnapped in Malaysia in 2017. Focusing on God’s Word has helped her trust in God’s goodness, even when his plan is unclear.

Malaysia: Pray that the gospel will advance among the Malay people through increased access to Bibles in the Malay language.

North Korea: Pray that Christians who receive Bibles smuggled into North Korea will grow in their knowledge of God's Word.

Esther Koh’s father, Pastor Raymond Koh, was abducted in Malaysia for his Christian activity in 2017. “What I’ve discovered is God’s role in suffering is to give us hope,” she said. “Through the pain, through the hardship, actually through persecution, we find hope [in Christ].”

Sudan: Many Christians have been displaced by fighting between Islamic groups. Pray for God's provision.

Tien’s father was killed in their home in Vietnam by a group of men led by his own brother in 2022. He had been sharing the gospel with neighbors. At age 16, Tien supported her brothers in a culture where being a Christian can be a lonely and painful experience.

Brunei: Pray for the few bold evangelists and missionaries who, despite the risks, proclaim the truth of the gospel.
