With Tennessee Rowing's move to the Southeastern Conference, the sport becomes the 22nd to be sponsored by the SEC and the 13th women’s sport in which an SEC Championship will be conducted. Four SEC universities—Tennessee, Alabama, Oklahoma and Texas—currently sponsor the sport of rowing.
