What a contrast. In Norway the Govt taxes oil companies, pays the billions into a sovereign wealth fund, and university degrees are free. In Australia we give away much energy wealth and our students pay more into Treasury than the mining giants 🤦‍♂️ #auspol theguardian.com/australia-news…

Here's a link to the full clip from Insiders this morning. You need independents to make the government more ambitious and to make the opposition more ambitious, to make them better, to keep them honest, to make them strive to provide vision for the country. #auspol24

The establishment may be rattled by the idea of a more balanced Parliament, but citizens are energised by the prospect of their voices carrying greater weight. A more diverse and representative government is not a threat, but a triumph of democracy. Phil needs to catch up.

We already have a hung parliament. No party has had a majority in the senate for well over a decade. That means *every* *single* *law* that gets passed needs to be negotiated with cross benchers. Any political journalist should know this.

I've been uplifted by the community support since I first ran 6 years ago, and encouraged by the inroads other Independents are making at bringing integrity and long-term thinking to Canberra. It's time for our local area to have our voice heard too. ~Alex
