The VLP Board are concerned to see the news that the World Federation of the Deaf plan to hold the 2027 WASLI/WFD conference in the UAE. We’d like to reiterate our support for our LGBTQIA+ and women members 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ who may feel hurt by the decision + unable to attend the conference freely.

We already have done, but would like to reiterate - we fully disagree with this decision and support our LGBTQIA+ and women colleagues. We urge the WFD to reverse this decision.
