I see teacher workload is back on the agenda of govt again. Here is a simple one for you Department for Education. Abolish Ofsted and ban all “training”, “preparation” or internal processes that get schools “ready” to jump through the latest ideological hoops chosen by you. Simple really.

Grp of heads from W.Mids met Amanda Spielman today re our OFSTED experiences. She really wanted to hear what life on the ground was like.We told her. Honestly. The grim truth. It was a full open and 2 way discussion. She seemed to get it & to care but power lies with government.

Completely ludicrous, Lincolnshire is in Great Britain, just in case the idiots at ofsted hadn’t realised.

If Ofsted are pushing for 2-year KS4 (which I think is the right course btw) then the volume of content for GCSE History needs to be reviewed.

A lot of specs I've taught barely fit into it. The only time I've ever finished it with ample revision time was during a 3yr KS4.

Over 5 yrs Ofsted since said this, I still hear teachers saying heads require photos stuck in books after practical maths. It’s wasted time. Drives teachers from the job. If I’m elected GS of NEU this will be a top priority for me. What’s the most un-useful work in your school?

If Culcheth High School, Warrington Borough Council & Ofsted had acted on my Formal Complaint, the two bullies at Culcheth High School would not have been there, Brianna Ghey would not have come to harm by them, it is that simple. I am so fucking angry.

If we have to have OFSTED, can they check staff retention over the prior 5 years in each school they visit? Can the govt intro a platform for anon exit interviews to be conducted every time a teacher leaves a school? Get that data on tap too for potential applicants.
