Single word reductive Ofsted judgments are contributing to a recruitment & retention crisis and driving poor mental health outcomes for staff.
Regrettably, they are used by the current Government to crudely categorize schools, which is why there is little appetite for reform.

I have come to the conclusion too many that work for Ofsted think they are investigators, and forget they are inspectors.

This heartless government says one word Ofsted assessments should stay. After one word, Inadequate, was used to describe a school which was good apart from in the one area… and led a Headmistress to kill herself.

I’ve been quiet on here recently and took a little break from it all. In that time we had the “pleasure” of an OFSTED inspection which I can safely say, 100%, showed absolutely no signs of change following the so called adaptations to the inspection process. It was disgusting.
