Glorious wee 40km cycle around VisitBute before breakfast this morning. Quiet roads, empty beaches, bouncing gates, an otter & Arran showing off in the distance. That’s better. BGTW

Breakfast of champions on Bute. Proper meat sausages, square sausages, bacon & more from Macqueens of Rothesay & freshly baked (still warm) artisan breads from Bute Stores. Delicious! BGTW #scotland VisitBute

Sometimes it’s the little things. Bus tour round VisitBute. Driver stopped so we could visit red phone box. Artist Ruth Slater had left something for my wee girls. Later popped Spirit Of Bute where welcoming owner - unsolicited - foisted me bottle of his Heidrun to try.

We’ve got that #Bute feeling. Great wee island for all the family. Water makes our green list; turquoise & milky blue too. Slainte! BGTW

Worth getting up at 5am to be the only soul at Ettrick Bay/in the world. วิสิฐ นาคโต Bute ⁦BGTW⁩

Dodging showers & battling persistent southerly, but discovering parts VisitBute didn’t know. Bumpy coastal pedal to narrowing Kyles at Kilmichael, bash north other side Rhubodach. Then delve deep to wild, Highland Bute in Glen More. Four hours in saddle. Epic! BGTW

Oh Lordy! Rothesay Bay langoustines freshly plucked from the waters outside. Worth coming doon the watter for just to savour these boat-fresh beauties. Caught by the waitress’ husband. 😋 VisitBute BGTW

Passing through perhaps my favourite train station in Scotland. I mean how can you not love a Victorian-era dame where you wander down under THAT roof & catch a ferry?
