It was 50 years ago today that the film, Farewell, My Lovely was released. Based on the Raymond Chandler novel, it starred Robert Mitchum as Philip Marlowe. Mitchum was the only actor to play Marlowe twice, Reprising the character in 1978's The Big Sleep.
