Repressing a huff, she stared at her older brother for a moment before launching a hug at him. “I love you too.” A small squeeze ensued. “Don’t look so sad, Jem. Happy New Year.”

“Okay.” Hands going into her pockets, Pandora’s tone quietened. If anything, she’d just wanted to be included in the fun. But, what Jem says goes. The blonde lead the way, eyes fixed on the floor. “D’you think I’m ever gonna be allowed at a party with you?”
