“The Withering” utilizes real lore from ancient pagan societies dedicated to occult practices that show the woods as a beautiful, yet darkly haunting place where the old god’s powers still linger — a place where modern folk aren’t welcome and cult-like groups still linger.

Hecate's wheel is an ancient Greek symbol and an emblem of the Moon Goddess Hecate and her Triple Goddess aspect. The second century text, “”The Chaldean Oracle", describes the symbol as a labyrinthine serpent, representing rebirth and renewal. #horror #folkhorror #horrorfilm
