Last week of homeschooling. Rather nervous about the effect of children going back to school on R-rate and teachers’ health. Wishing teachers best of luck with settling 30+ children per class from Mon. Won’t miss distanced learning, though.

Distanced learning has come to an end for us. Thinking of and praying for parents and children who have one more day of this.

Zoom meeting of SCP chapter (Society of Catholic Priests). A chance to pray together and to catch up with colleagues. So valuable!

Thursday = recording day. Only 1 church service to record as we only have 1 service on 1st Sunday of the month. Collective Worship gets recorded at the Vicarage.

First day back at school for many pupils. Praying for all pupils, teachers and other staff. (And for parents who may be feeling a little bit anxious or apprehensive).

I do enjoy my Friday afternoon walks. I drop off the DVDs with the services, catch with the recipients and I get some fresh air and exercise! Win win 😃

My Good Friday prayer is that we look at the cross and see there a better way of being human, where we acknowledge our need of God and our need of one another, and where the highest ideals are those of sacrifice and service.

We are told the women watched Jesus’ execution on Good Friday from afar. Many of us have felt the pain of distance this year, longing to be with loved ones. But in those moments when the followers of Jesus had never felt more abandoned, God had never been more truly with us.

Today was Peggy Moulson’s funeral. She was a former church warden and sidesperson and choir member. She will be much missed. Prayers for her family and friends.

Our toddler services are outdoors, at the moment, so we can sing. We didn’t let the weather stop us, this morning. It was actually mostly dry and we had a lovely service. 😃
