As the storm clouds dissipate and the sun sparkles, the Shag Rock in Whiteway, and Hopeall Island in Hopeall emerge radiantly as enigmatic symbols of the towns they represent, offset by the snow-covered hills in the distance! Warm views on a cold day!

A beachfront scene in Heart's Desire and some dormant fishing sheds in New Perlican stand in sharp contrast a mere 48 hours before, to the snow-covered beach scenes in Hopeall and Green's Harbour today! Quite characteristic of a NL winter.

On our daily outing today we came upon a seal basking on the ice in Hopeall harbour. Quite a large seal it was.

On our visit to Hopeall today along the lee shore were some mergansers displaying some unusual maneuvers. Could it be some type of mating behavior. The performers were males!! Nature entertains us!

A sign from an airbnb in Dildo, some sunset highlighted cottages in Spreadeagle and creative wood stacking in Heart's Delight. Certainly some interesting sights to behold on a leisurely drive in February.

Surf conditions at New Melbourne today, fuelled by the gale force winds we have experienced over the past number of days!

Watching the breakers roll in at New Melbourne today! Amazing surf conditions and unusual water colourations enhanced by the sunny conditions.

We had the opportunity to take a couple of photos of the Shag Rock under sunny skies. Notice the one eagle on the first photo sitting on top of the rock. On the second photo we noticed two eagles. Wonders to see on the last day of February in Whiteway.

We checked again today and it seems that the two "Shag Rock Eagles" got a little friendlier and cozied up to each other. Maybe the colder temperatures had something to do with it! There was a great sunset today as well!

Those ice-coated wharves in Cavendish and Heart's Desire and the ice coated rocks all applied by the forces of frost, wind, wave-action and tides. Look at Islington island and see if you can tell the direction of the wind??

Dropped in to the grocery store today and we are happy to report that practically everyone in the store were wearing masks! Saw only one person without a mask! Why is government giving up on us?
