CDC changing covid isolation guidelines because 'most people' have immunity. This will be a surprise to the near 10,000 people who died of covid in January and the tens of thousands more that will die in the coming months. Nothing more than eugenics for capitalism

So even the CDC less than 2 weeks ago posted that PSA "your next COVID-19 infection could be your worst" & 2000+ ppl are dying per week of acute infections & every study is like "oh oops covid does this OTHER nasty thing" but we don't need to bother staying home when infectious?

The U.S. has had 139 million infections this #surge (credible interval, 97-160 million). That's 41.6% of the U.S. population (3 in 7) if assuming nobody got double-infected this surge. If assuming 20% got double-infected this surge, then 33.3% of people got infected (1 in 3).

How long are you contagious with COVID-19? ➡️ Most people are infectious for ~10 days ➡️ ~80% of people test positive for 5 days after symptom onset ➡️ Only ~30% of people who test positive have a fever ➡️ Presence of symptoms is an unreliable indicator of infectiousness

I also don’t understand those accusing mask wearers of being “sheep.” Sheep follow the flock. As most aren’t currently masking in the midst of cold and flu season, wouldn’t that make non maskers the sheep? 🐑 I like a good burn as much as anyone, but it’s got to make sense.🤷🏽‍♂️

It's official: Mask ban in Nassau County, New York passes along party lines, 12-0 (7 abstentions). It makes wearing a mask a misdemeanor (with unclear health and religious exceptions) and gives police the power to fine people wearing a mask $1,000 and sentence them to jail time.

The mask ban in Nassau County, NY went into effect today. It’s a dangerous, discriminatory and highly ableist ban that makes masking a criminal act. The police will determine who is “sick enough” to wear a mask. Everyone else? $1000 fine and/or jail. 🧵/1
