175th anniversary, 6 July: desperate Irish famine refugees arrived Grosse รle 1847. Beautiful and moving ceremony by Parks Canada and Irish Heritage Quebec. Irish Embassy Canada Consulate General of Ireland in Vancouver National Famine Museum | Strokestown Park

Honoured to participate in the Irish Embassy Canada ceremony commemorating Irelandโs Irish Famine refugees who arrived in Bytown /Ottawa in 1847. The event commemorated those who died and were laid to rest and honoured the memory of those who tended to them. It was a moving morning.
