Volleyball Tip of The Day: You only get one first impression. What first impression are you leaving on coaches and potential teammates?

Volleyball Tip of the Day: It's either "One day" or "Day one" I'll do it one day OR I'm starting now and it's Day one. Which one do you choose?

Volleyball Tip of the Day: Every decision you make is a vote towards or against the player you want to become. Where are most of your "votes" going?

Volleyball Tip of the Day: Set goals and intentions for each practice. Don't make them too general though. Instead of "my goal is to work on defense today" you can think, "my goal is to get lower on defense today and be stopped before the hit"

Volleyball Tip of the Day: Remember that physiologically, nervousness and excitement are very similar (higher heart rate, increased body temp, etc.) Next time you're feeling nervous, try telling yourself that you're EXCITED instead. The right perspective can be a game changer

Volleyball Tip of the Day: The little things matter. Come early to practice. Help set up/take down the nets. Compliment your teammates. Jog into the huddles. Many of the things you can do to stick out as a volleyball player don't even involve anything Volleyball specific.

You can't get upset about the results you failed to get from the work you didn't do. Think about what YOU can control and focus on that.

Be patient with your expectations, but be impatient with your actions. Great things take time, but you should work at them CONSISTENTLY with a sense of urgency.

How do you approach larger goals? You turn them into smaller goals. Breaking down a large goal into smaller goals creates MORE ways to win. More wins keeps you motivated. More wins keep you on track.

Goals are great. But both the winners and the losers of a game had the same goal of winning. This just means goals aren't enough. What actions are you taking? What decisions are you making? That's what can help make the difference.

Your coach isn't calling you out, they're calling you UP! Think of accountability as being called Up instead of being called out. If your coach is holding you accountable, it's because they know you are capable of more.

It's not always about how hard you row. Sometimes it comes down to making sure you're on the right boat. So yes, you might work hard, but if you're not doing the RIGHT things then you may be missing out on better performance.

Winners and Losers both had the same Goal. This just means setting goals isn't enough. What actions will you take to achieve those goals? And will those actions be better than your competition?

Practice doesn't make perfect, practice makes PERMANENT. How you practice is how you play. Make sure your effort, mindset, and motivation are where they should be.
