We need more effort and investment in Lambeth on air pollution. An epidemic is killing millions - but it's not a virus, it's air pollution inews.co.uk/opinion/column…

Apart from washing hands to prevent spread of #CoronaVirus this might be a good time to start organising locally. There will be lots of people who need help. Perhaps volunteer to do shopping for those who are having to self-isolate. Helping neighbours builds strong communities

All benefit sanctions should be suspended immediately. Not just for those falling ill. Carrying on with the sanctions regime in the current circumstances is both destructive and counter-productive.

Ireland has had daily press/ t.v./ online briefing by senior health officials ever day for past week with detailed test stats, analysis & follow-up. UK govt is briefing tame celeb journos, with whacky theories, questionable testing & info. What is wrong with UK govt?

The sad thing is that the planned daily #coronavirusuk briefing is a response to public pressure. It should have happened much earlier. Where the corona virus leads, the public follow with the government dragging its feet someway behind.

Today a temporary basic income plan is urgent. Full UBI in place already would have massively simplified dealing with the job effects of virus protection measures. Without it millions are at risk, and the benefit claim system will soon break down. What is the best way to do this?

Sian Berry asked the Mayor to back “a proper rent holiday” She said current rent holidays then… turns the rent into debt within three months”. He said: “Absolutely, that’s one of my concerns. What you’re doing is you’re simply kicking a can down the road. insidehousing.co.uk/news/news/gove…

Welfare spending has been cut by £37bn over the last decade. The £7bn increase the chancellor has just announced is a small step in the right direction but not nearly enough to protect the poorest and most vulnerable.

PM keeps repeating that Govt will do "whatever it takes" over #Coronavirus But still no answer to when testing will be available to all. Nor when NHS staff will get vital protective equipment And self-employed are still waiting for support We can do better than this #PMQs
