Big thanks to Carbon Credit Campbell (he/him) for saying that a LOT of people live on arterial roads & deserve quiet, safe streets. The 15 yo Lord Byng student that was struck in January was hit on 16th which is an arterial with 3 schools on it. We need to think about solutions to make arterials safer.

Research shows that children are eight times more likely to die being hit by an SUV or a light duty truck. For every 10 cm of increased Hood height the chance of mortality increases 22%. Why do we allow SUVs and these trucks in our cities near pedestrians or cyclists?

This board has been appallingly unresponsive to sincere and desperate advocacy from parents whose children's educational needs are not being met by the Vancouver School Board. He needs to apologize to them and the Vancouver DPAC.

The question I am submitting is: "Will each of the six trustees — who have so far refused to meet with the district's Inclusive Education Working Group — agree to do so and hear their (excellent!) presentation prior to approving the 2025/26 preliminary operating budget?"
