You can tell it's winter. The number of UWM computers in our IT Asset Mgmt database went from 7632 in Dec to 5288 today. They'll be back.

2012 goal: Increase visibility, understanding & acceptance of vital license terms to software users. In short: Educate, educate, educate.

The monetary costs of software license non-compliance are extreme. The reputation costs of non-compliance are incalculable (in numbers).

As of Feb. 10, UWM software buyers will be directed to WISC (Madison) for Adobe home use, EndNote, Parallels, Quark & other software titles.

Many people prefer not to leave their offices to pick up software media, so we will now fill orders by sending media out via campus mail.

We will introduce a same-day, rush service for software media in the near future.

The best one can expect is to get better.

CS 6 versions of Adobe software titles will be available from WISC at wiscsoftware.wisc.edu/wisc/ in about 30 days.

SAM will no longer sell individual Adobe licenses to UWM faculty & staff. You may buy from WISC in Madison.

SAM will continue to buy, resell & manage Adobe concurrent licenses for UWM units in larger volume (min. of 10) at a lower cost than WISC.

Adobe CS 5.5 software should all be available on line by July 1st. It takes 30-90 days to receive it all and to prepare installation files.
