#OTD in #History, 1870, Hiram Revels became the 1st Black Member of #Congress. Called “the Fifteenth Amendment in flesh and blood,” Revels took an ardent pro-slavery secessionist's seat—which a Senator said was “a magnificent spectacle of retributive justice.”  #BlackHistoryMonth

It's Spring Break at MSU and do you know what that means? The gates are up. The students are (mostly) gone. And our museums are open. It is the perfect time to visit the John Grisham Room, U.S. Grant Presidential Library, #WilliamsCollection and more in Mitchell Memorial Library. Open 8-4:30pm.

We had the pleasure to receive a visit from Howard Lee Martin of Ohio. Howard served as a First Class Seaman in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean War. We thank him for his amazing service to our country!
