In May 1920, the Interior Secretary evaluated which Imperial Valley lands could be irrigated using Colorado River water via Laguna Dam. This led to the Boulder Canyon Project and All-American Canal, now serving 9 cities and 500,000 acres of farmland. #Reclamation

Tahoe City temps can drop below freezing at night, then climb above freezing in the day. This cycle can deteriorate concrete. The Tahoe Dam is structurally sound, at 115 years old, it needs routine inspections. Reclamation evaluates the dam's concrete and makes repairs if needed.
