One year ago, the 🇧🇾regime faked a bomb threat to force a RyanAir jet to land in Minsk. Two passengers remain in regime custody & have yet to reach their final destination. This reckless action still directly impacts Belarusians seeking to connect to EU & other destinations.

Last year, the Lukashenka regime used a fake bomb threat to divert Ryanair Flight 4978 to land in Minsk. Today, we again condemn that reckless flouting of international norms and the continued detention of two of the passengers, who are now among hundreds of political prisoners.

As #WHA75 discusses #HealthforPeace, the United States stands to condemn Russia’s unprovoked, unjustified aggression against Ukraine. Their attacks have destroyed #HealthFacilities, killed and maimed civilians and #HealthWorkers, and disrupted the #GlobalFoodSystem.

We all share a common humanity. LGBTQI+ persons have dreams and ambitions, feel fear and pain, and advocate for a community that supports and values everyone equally. As integral members of society, they have made incalculable contributions throughout history. #Pride

I welcome ICAO's decision to report the DPRK’s pattern of unannounced missile launches to the 41st Assembly, which pose an unnecessary risk & threat to international civil aviation in northeast Asia. ow.ly/swXM50JpEml

The U.S. & partners are engaged via the Commercial Aviation Alternative Fuels Initiative (CAAFI) to increase development of Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF). We are also encouraging @ICAO to set a Long-Term Aspirational Goal, to spur SAF development.

Russia has been dual-registering aircraft in contravention of international law. The PRC's Civil Aviation Administration (CAAC) made the right decision to ban them from PRC airspace, upholding the Chicago Convention’s rule of one state of registry.

So glad to see the Flight Safety Foundation honor @ICAO’s response to COVID-19. The U.S. Department of State, The FAA ✈️, and @CDC were major contributors to the effort to resume safe, healthy travel, enabling air shipment of PPE & vaccines, and flights to bring people home.
