Upgrading my tiniest #ASIC GPU for #TinyTapeout 7. It can now render 2 triangles with texture mapped! Using industrial standard trick, just add more transistors. I am now max out at 16-tiles. Thanks a lot Uri Shaked for the image ROM idea and code.

Wokwi is A M A Z I N G. The The Amp Hour Podcast interview (#599) with its author blew my mind. As a programmer, I can tell when somebody goes the extra mile to make things well, but Uri Shaked went to another planet to make it perfect.

Guys, that was the plan. For almost a year since submitting, this stuff was swirling in my head, and now it has become concrete. I never thought it would happen. I didn't realize how easy ASIC design is, thanks to #tinytapeout and the team. Kudos to these crazy guys who are

Aiming to draw demoscene coders into chip design, and vice versa, this Tiny Tapeout competition aims to deliver a treat for the eyes and ears. hackster.io/news/matt-venn…

I had another design on TT05! An 8-Bit Shift Register with Output Latches 74HC595. I coded a C bit-banging code on my KianV RV32IMA SV32 system to create a Knight Rider effect. That means both the TTL chip and the Linux bit-banging system are my own designs from scratch. Thanx to

Ever since I came up with the CORDIC donut idea I've wanted to do a hardware version.... and thanks to Bruno's discovery here, I was able to make it happen fast enough to "race the beam" on a VGA monitor for Tiny Tapeout, without pipelineing, using 2x2 tiles (~6k standard cells).

Pure ASIC! Thunder captured inside the rock to make pixels. No CPU, no GPU, no RAM. Racing the beam and straight to 640x480 VGA at 60Hz! Me together with Erik Hemming and second iteration made a demo for Tiny Tapeout demoscene ASIC competition 161 x 225 microns on 130nm!

Interested in how electronics works at the silicon level? Maybe you've done some Arduino or PCB design but never found any good resources for microelectronics. With #SiliWiz, you can draw and simulate a MOSFET in your browser in less than 20 minutes! tinytapeout.com/guides/worksho…
