Once again marking Mother's Day by sharing my mum's ferocious letter to my asshole headmaster. "I would prefer you to leave the disciplining of my son to a teacher less blinded my prejudice and spite..." Love you mum! x

🌹 My mum died on Thursday. 🌹 I don’t come on here much anymore, but it’s Mother’s Day and there’s nowhere else to take it. She was beautiful and tall and complicated; she wanted more than she was given and I wish I could have given her more than I did.

My beloved 16-year-old brother, Musaab was pulled out of the rubble of our destroyed house. He couldn’t survive the Israeli horrific airstrike. He was found killed under the rubble. He loved his life and was saying all the time “I don’t want to die. I have plans to achieve”.

I suddenly find myself at a weird, sad age. I feel much younger than I am chronologically, but icons from my teens and twenties are dying at an alarming rate. I'm facing my own mortality, while simultaneously wanting to deny and fight against it for all I'm worth. Is this normal?

The longer I’m celibate, the higher my standards get, & the more ok I am with not having a man in my life. There’s a sense of peace that comes from conserving your sexual energy. Sleeping with a lot of people is not a flex & certainly is not empowering.
