It is nearly 10 years since attention was drawn to the exploitation of 1000s of overseas students and other temporary visa holders by the 7-Eleven franchise. Here's how workers changed the systems that allowed this to happen: bit.ly/46HNxYF

More than 6 million tonnes of asbestos still lurks in our homes and workplaces. We need to remove it before it degrades and exposes more people. 🧵 abc.net.au/news/2024-09-1…

Today the Liberals said if they are elected - NO PAY RISES WITHOUT INCREASED PRODUCTIVITY! (But even if productivity does increase, no guaranteed increase anyway) #insiders

Election promises from Peter Dutton’s Coalition: - Abolish same job, same pay laws - Make it easy for employers to turn permanent jobs into casual jobs - Abolish workers right to disconnect, free work after hours - Abolish multi-employer bargaining #insiders

Workers fought for these laws because of rogue employers like Qantas. Qantas pioneered the method of creating new subsidiaries just to pay people less. A Dutton government would give free rein to companies like Qantas to drive down pay and conditions again.

Unions have won a heap of new laws that have seen wages move in the right direction for early childhood educators, age care workers, casuals and labour hire workers. If the libs get in power, they have made it crystal clear that those wins are on the chopping block.

The CEOs of Australia’s big businesses have their black tie dinner tonight where they are planning to attack the PM & the Labor Govt for supporting workers getting pay rises. The irony of them dining in grand ballrooms & denouncing payrises for working Australians is not lost.

Tonight, at a swanky black-tie event, CEOs of Australia's big businesses will attack the PM and labor for passing laws that have won workers pay rises. As they sip on their expensive wines they will try to convince us that these pay rises are just bad for business. out of touch?

The Anthony Albanese Govt’s workplace reforms have slashed the gender pay gap to the lowest on record. That means Australian women are, on average, earning over $4,000 more now than under the Coalition. Under Labor, you’ll earn more & keep more of what you earn. news.com.au/finance/econom…

We're looking forward to celebrating this milestone birthday with our friends at the ANMF - Australian Nursing Midwifery Federation ANMF Tasmania in October. An incredible achievement representing nurses and midwives for a century #ausunions

Peter Dutton is committed to revoking multi-employer bargaining, which is closing the gender pay gap, scrapping the right to disconnect, meaning more work for less pay, and making it easier for bosses to hire fake casuals. Who's side is Dutton on? Not workers.

Dutton’s nuclear fantasy will push up energy bills ☢️🔌 New research by the Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis estimates that the average Australian household would pay an extra $665 every year in power bills if Dutton’s plan goes ahead.
