Our President was pleased to join former NZ at the UN Ambassador, Hon Sir Jim McLay, in meeting with Hon Frederick A. Mitchell, Foreign Minister of The Bahamas. Recently the Commonwealth of Bahamas announced its plans to run for a seat on the UN Security Council for the years 2032-33.
Many thanks to the Speaker of the Queensland Parliament, Honourable Curtis Pitt MP, for hosting a welcome reception last night. Enjoyed meeting students attending the DisInfo conference, as well as the views of Brisbane river with Damian Cardona Onses, Director UNIC Canberra.
We were pleased to have a delegation from New Zealand attend DisInfo Pacific, a regional UNIC Canberra conference on Information Integrity co-funded by EU in Australia and hosted Griffith University. Our thanks to all involved for convening this important two-day conference on disinformation.
Our President facilitated a workshop on Democracy and Elections UNIC Canberra DisInfo Pacific Regional Conference on Information Integrity. He shared our experience when our 2023 conference became a target for disinformation. Session focused on finding solutions to the challenge.
