Afghanistan: Drought is crippling crops, killing livestock, and deepening food insecurity. Of the 9.5M projected to face acute hunger, one-third live in drought-hit areas. Just visited IOM Afghanistan-supported Reception Center in Islam Qala, with #IOM Chief of Staff Mohammed Mohammed Abdiker. The scale of Afghans’ returns is staggering, arriving with so little, so tired. Urgent funding is needed to support dignified returns and sustainable reintegration.


📸Food and Agriculture Organization distributes livestock protection packages in Faizabad, Jawzjan province. Thanks Norway in Afghanistan support, FAO is delivering animal feed, deworming vaccine, mineral blocks, berseem seeds & training to livestock keepers to ensure they safeguard their herds from ongoing drought.




UNOPS signed 6 Grant Support Agreements under the World Bank South Asia #ARTF-funded Water Emergency Response Project to deliver solar-powered irrigation. The $5.23M initiative will expand irrigation across 600 hectares in 5 provinces, boosting farming and sustainable water access.



IOM’s Chief of Staff & Regional Director met with EUinAfghanistan to discuss our ongoing partnership. EU support remains critical to delivering both emergency assistance & long-term recovery for hundreds of thousands of Afghans, especially women & vulnerable groups.


Breast milk is a child’s first protection against illness & their first step towards healthy development. With support from UNICEF Afghanistan & its partners, moms receive nutrition counseling on when & how to breastfeed, giving every child the strongest start in life across Afghanistan.


Many #MSMEs struggle to access bank loans.UNDP Afghanistan's ABADEI project, supported by EUinAfghanistan, is bridging this gap with Murabaha loans ($1,000-$3,000) across 6 provinces: • Herat & Badghis • Balkh & Faryab • Takhar & Badakhshan Target: 3,500+ businesses will be empowered!


Beekeeping provides nutritious food & a safe, home-based livelihood for families especially for women🐝 Since 2024, Food and Agriculture Organization & partners supported 3 000 families across Afghanistan with hives, equipment & training. Honey’s long shelf life makes it a valuable additional income source.


With support from Special Trust Fund for Afghanistan, 16 solar systems have been installed to power city water networks in Kandahar, Balkh, & Paktia, bringing clean water closer to home. Since the start of ABADEI Phase 2, nearly 76,000 people, including over 38,000 women, have benefited. #ABADEI
