Standardized testing, especially in elementary level is not only a massive waste of time and money, but has little to no impact on student learning.

There should be no grades, much less any standardized testing in kindergarten. Making 5 yr olds sit most of the day, while cutting out recess, play time, nap time, and physical activity is borderline child abuse.

30 infants die and we recall 4.7 mil Rock ‘n Play Sleepers. 2 toddlers die and we recall 3.2 mil Calico Critters toys. 2 infants die and we recall so much formula that the US goes into shortage. Last year, over 6,000 children were injured by gun violence. Nothing. Nada.

4 years in & the results are worse than ever. In fact the only other district below also has had RIDE interference (Central Falls) maybe the state isn’t the answer. Maybe the answer is local control. The failed takeover must end on 9/1/24

In case you didn't know, the City of Providence is neglecting its students by underfunding the school district & disregarding state law. If the city does not uphold their financial responsibility, the students will be negatively impacted, and that is simply unacceptable.
