Make no mistake - we are also incredibly angry. We stand with RSPB England in calling out the unprecedented attack on nature launched by UK Government over the last few days. We’ll be challenging this together and asking for our supporters to stand with us.

My sheep are sprouting 🌱!!! Grazing through the long grass in a warm wet autumn has had some interesting results… anyone else having this issue while rotationally grazing sheep? 🤔 On a plus side I know a great way to propagate grass seeds if anyones interested!!

A thread: Well, what should have been a nice Sunday morning walk with my wife has just been ruined by being subjected to a torrent of abuse after I politely asked 2 separate groups of owners to put their dogs on leads in a field full of pregnant ewes…

The Forestry Commission has urged the public to report sightings of oak processionary moth caterpillars, which are a tree pest. We are entering a high risk period as the caterpillars emerge from June to August to feed on oak leaves before becoming moths. gov.uk/government/new…

Mornin’ folks. We’ve had a lot of people enquiring about and commenting on #bumblebees asleep on #flowers, especially at this time of year, so here’s a quick (long)🙄 thread explaining what’s going on. Please retweet so more are more informed. Thanks good people. #bees 1/16

During bird breeding season we urge dog owners to keep them under close control & stick to paths on our reserves. These birds blend in so well - like this little golden plover chick! Sticking to paths reduces the risk of damaging nests & adults abandoning nests. 💔

We are on the final push to finish all our instream habitat restoration sites. Work stops over winter to avoid disturbing fish during spawning or damage fish eggs. Large pieces of wood going in here to create fish cover, reduce bank erosion and provide dead wood for bugs.

If Holly (Ilex aquifolium) finds its leaves are being nibbled by deer, it switches genes on to make them spiky when they regrow. So on taller Holly trees, the upper leaves (which are out of reach) have smooth edges, while the lower leaves are prickly 🤙

Just a small insight into what farmers go through to supply supermarkets at Christmas, only to be slapped in the face in the shopping aisles! It’s bloody criminal! 🤬

Toad in the hole anyone? Found under a perennial ornamental grass in a customers garden. How many can you spot? #gardening #wildlife #toad or a #frog

Notice the fuss about the non-English football manager. We’ve had two before, of course, but we weren’t such a terrified little country back then. The rise of the far right has made us smaller and more stupid.
