LAWS OF UX 👀 Tesler’s Law, a.k.a. The Law of Conservation of Complexity, states that for any system there is a certain amount of complexity which cannot be reduced. Complexity can’t be removed. Only shifted. If your design feels easy, someone worked hard to make it so. DH

Laws of UX 👀 Hick’s Law states that the time it takes to make a decision increases with the number and complexity of choices. Which means - The more options you present, the longer it takes users to decide. But be careful not to simplify to the point of abstraction. 👀 DH

Laws of UX 👀 Jakob’s Law states that Users spend most of their time on other websites. This means they prefer your site to work the same way as all the others they already know Innovation is good, but familiarity builds trust and ease.

Laws of UX 👀 The average person can only keep 7 (plus or minus 2) items in their working memory. So basically, the human brain is like a Core i7, powerful, but not built for overload 😅 So when designing interfaces, don’t dump everything at once. Break it down. Help users focus

Laws of UX👀 Any task will inflate until all of the available time is spent. Reducing the actual duration to complete a task from the expected duration will improve the overall user experience. Time is a design tool Use it well GM

The Peak–End Rule👀 People don’t remember every detail of an experience, they remember the highlight and how it ended. This is why onboarding and offboarding matter. A boring interface can be forgiven… But a frustrating end? That one sticks. You can relate, right?😅

Let's talk UX 👀 Have you noticed that every solution has a problem You fix one thing, you frustrate another That’s why good design isn’t just about solving problems, It’s about choosing which problems are worth solving and which frustrations are worth keeping. GM creatives

The closer your most important controls are to the thumb’s resting position, the easier and more pleasant the interaction. When using a phone one-handed, the thumb forms an arc, not a straight line. The bottom-right quadrant is the most accessible area for right-handed users.

I was on a space hosted by Web3 Nigeria and it was a masterclass on building real, intentional communities from the ground up. Still sitting with this: What kind of community am I creating? And who do I need to become to lead it?

I’ve been using progressive disclosure for a while without knowing it had an actual name 😅 It’s the idea of revealing just enough at each step instead of dumping everything on the user at once. It’s a simple idea, but it changes how people feel when they use a product.

Peek at the portfolio of someone making $200K, or some of those folks that work for big brands, you’ll realize this game isn’t just about knowing Figma. Yours might even crush theirs.
