Reflecting on a fantastic SBNS Autumn meeting we hosted last week held at Edgbaston Stadium. A record 43 oral abstract presentations University Hospitals Birmingham Bham Children's Hosp 💙 Uni of Birmingham with all subspecialties represented. Thank you to Ms Wykes, Mr Tsermoulas and SBNS for organising!


Recently SBNS held its autumn meeting Edgbaston Stadium hosted by my former colleagues UHB Neurosurgery Very engaging meeting across all specialities of neurosurgery. Enjoyed chairing the NeuroTrauma session with my good mate Mr David Davies! 🧠 🤕 Tony Belli






Congratulations to our very own Mr Tsermoulas, who is leading the #IIHIntervention trial alongside colleagues from Translational Brain Science Research Birmingham UK, Queen Square Neurosurgery and Newcastle University for leading today's meeting of investigators for the trial!

Excellent work by our neurosurgery and neuroscience clinical, theatre and research team at the yearly Brain Awareness Week 🧠 BERTI is an important patient and public engagement group to support our University Hospitals Birmingham and Cancer and Genomic Sciences work on brain tumour care and research.

Congratulations 🎉 to Phil O'Halloran of Mater Hospital for being the new #Neurotrauma lead for SBNS! Well done buddy and hopefully this will improve collaboration between our countries!!

Next talk is by Mr Georgios Tsermoulas, Consultant Neurosurgeon and #CSF Lead at University Hospitals Birmingham He presented about rethinking intracranial pressure in idiopathic intracranial hypertension (#IIH) and how to report ICP in a way more reflective of its natural physiological oscillations.


Mr Graham Flint ends our Dragon’s Den event outlining his 50-year career at University Hospitals Birmingham It is a privilege to learn from his wealth of experience and to honour him at this surprise celebration for his #retirement!
