2/2 . The CPS said IHT should be replaced by a change in capital gains tax, to compensate for the loss in revenue. If the Government would not scrap the tax it should at least honour George Osborne’s pledge in 2007 to raise the nil-rate band to £1m. Interesting but unlikely

Recent data suggests the number of families paying inheritance tax has almost doubled over last ten years. HMRC data shows some 27,000 estates paid the 40% tax in 2020-21, This was up from 15,000 families in 2009-10

The Caterer.com reports that more than 165k over-50s have joined hospitality sector in the past three years, representing 1/3 of industry's workforce. A 14% increase from 2020. This is good news for a sector who has lost large worker numbers.

The Sunday Telegraph reports that only 430 families used the GIFTS OUT OF #INCOME IHT break last year. With an 50000 expected to pay the 40% charge by 2027. This tax break is a great opportunity. #getadvice #IHT
