Today and the past few days have been the culmination of our year in the council defined by militancy and struggle. We stood firm against state intimidation, organized events, and forged alliances—all to amplify the calls and campaigns of the studentry and basic masses.

It’s the people we stood with in the face of police intimidation in Tacloban and rallied with in today’s First Day Fight that pushes us to continue our struggle. They are the reason I’ll look back 50 years from now, knowing I did the right thing.
