During an official or unofficial visit, contact between a potential student athlete and former student athlete may only occur on-campus. Off-campus contact is not permissible, this prohibition includes locations within a one-mile radius of campus!

It is permissible for an institution to pay a PSA’s actual costs for reasonable expenses (meals and lodging) incurred while traveling to and from campus on an official visit. For sports other than Basketball and Football, this does NOT include the expenses of PSA family members.

An institution may provide meals, lodging, and entertainment for a prospective student-athlete (PSA) on an official visit and up to 4 family members accompanying the PSA. Entertainment must be within a 30-mile radius of the institution’s main campus.

During official & unofficial visits, tryouts are generally prohibited. However, a prospect may participate in recreational activities on campus provided the activities are not organized or observed by coaches and are not designed to test the prospect’s athletics abilities.

Reminder: Next week, Nov 7-10, is a dead period. In-person recruiting contacts and evaluations (on or off campus), official and unofficial visits are NOT permissible at this time. However, institutional staff members may communicate with a PSA by phone, text, or email.

Happy March Madness! Remember that student-athletes and institutional athletics staff members are NOT permitted to engage in sports wagering. This means no NCAA tournament pools with entry fees or placing anything of value on the line. Enjoy the tournament, but #DontBetOnIt!

With the NFL season kicking off this week, remember that all sports wagering activities are prohibited for all student-athletes and UGA Athletics Staff. This includes fantasy football, survivor pools, etc.

Reminder: Student-athletes may not receive payment from any source for his/her complimentary admissions and may not exchange or assign them for any item of value. Also, family members and friends who have been assigned tickets may not sell or exchange them either!
