I’m sure you saw the news and, to put it mildly, I can’t say we’re excited. Funding in our sector is broken. Moving a greater burden onto students will not fix this. We need a new funding model taken out of the hands of the VCs and executives who have gutted our sector!

Any such "debate" would be beyond tone-deaf. For over a year we have been forced to watch an unfolding genocide. "Debating" who is most to blame for that is ridiculous and offensive.

The Dean of my college sent out an email offering post-election ‘support and strength and unwavering dedication to our community’ to 300 faculty members, many of whom have been notified we will not have jobs in January. You’d better believe it’s popping off in the reply alls

Interesting time to decide you don't need to understand politics or international relations. And that's yet another chemistry department gone. While the environment is about to collapse and we could do with people understanding it in minute detail.

It absolutely *is* a scandal, especially when you see what Durham charges per hour for its academics working with other organisations. Academic expertise is always extremely highly valued by the uni, right up to the point the uni itself has to pay for it.

Let's stop uni bosses doing this next time. #WeAreAllSue

Such good news that Sue Agazie has won a settlement, following the absolutely disgraceful treatment she has suffered. Her story should serve as a stark reminder of just how low a university is prepared to sink in order to protect its interests, no matter the human cost.
