Lightsabers aren't the only thing lasers are good for. Engineers at UC San Diego use lasers and photonics for some pretty amazing purposes, like understanding how ultrasound opens up ion channels in brain cells. More from @MADLabUCSD: jacobsschool.ucsd.edu/news/release/3… #MayThe4thBeWithYou
