Yesterday the Alberta trip got acclimatized to the Badlands of Alberta with a hike in horse thief canyon. We also had a lot of fun on the bus. #yorlearns Brian Eaton Mr. Gaio The York School

No trip to Drumheller is complete without a trip to WHIFS. The group is fuelled and ready to go for the day. #yorklearns

This morning we visited Blackfoot Crossing to learn more about the Blackfoot people’s history. #yorklearns

The grade 9 The York School Alberta trip spent Monday afternoon at the Atlas Coal mine where we learned the role coal has had in the Drumheller valley over the years. #yorklearns

This evening we hit up Bernie and the Boys for their famous burgers. Mr. Gaio went for the double and it did not disappoint. Afterwards we were treated to a ghost walk of Drumheller. #yorklearns

The group arrived in Banff on Tuesday evening. While staying in the town, students are responsible for preparing their own meals. One group experienced the highs of a beautiful steak dinner and the low of an extremely burnt apple crumble. #yorklearns

Bus rides can be long at times. We’ve been passing the time by documenting the many naps of Mr. Gaio No one can nap on the bus like this guy. Twitter only lets you upload 4 photos at a time so stay tuned for further photo essays. #yorklearns #icenaps

Meeting Banff councillor Barb Pelham, Iconic Lake Louise, the Sulphur Mountain gondola (pay no attention to the prescribed burn that went slightly haywire) and a night of bowling at High Rollers was our day with the grade 9 The York School Alberta trip. #yorklearns

Dear David Hamilton, we regret to inform you that we have not finished our The York School challenge week assignment and require an extension. We feel that one more week in Banff will be sufficient to finish it. We will attend workspace in the mountains each day. #yorklearns

The grade 9 The York School Prairies to Mountains trip has been in Alberta since Sunday. The group had been entertained by some very friendly and knowledgeable people from both Drumheller and Banff.

After a flight reroute to Winnipeg because of the airport in Toronto being closed, we are back on the plane and ready to head to Toronto. It’s been a blast, however, I think we can all agree that we’d like to be back tonight and not tomorrow. #yorkcw #yorklearns
