One year ago today, on what would have been Mr. Tyrone Thompson's 55th birthday, we had the incredible honor of hosting his family and friends as we dedicated our school to him. It is our goal to share this video with you each year on this date to remember Mr. Thompson!

We are so thankful our school is named after Mr. Tyrone Thompson and we are proud to keep his legacy alive in all we do!

Positive #4 - Thank you to Rocío Hernández for interviewing our reporters! They were so excited to be a part of that process and look forward to being in the newspaper soon!

Positive #5 - we do an “Our Staff Rocks in ‘ROCK’tober.” Many families treated staff to notes and gifts to help their morale. We were even blessed to have many families provide a lunch today! Thank you to all who take care of educators!

Positive #6 - when people do fun activities for kids, that is always a amazing! Thank you to Ms. Malecki and Mrs. Dalton for creating a fun environment for families!

Positive #7- A HUGE thank you to everyone who donated, participated, and attended another fabulous “Trunk or Treat” Thompson ES! What a fabulous night!

For this week's Indy Ed newsletter, I interviewed budding journalists at Tyrone Thompson ES who started their own school newspaper. Time for a positive post. Wednesdays are for Houses at Thompson. Adding the different seating this year has been fun for kids! Make houses happen…they bring kids together!

Our choir recorded two holiday songs at PBS this past week! Mrs. Jun is putting her program on the map! Great job, Trailblazers!

Positive #12 at Tyrone Thompson ES. Great job by the Robotics Team and Mrs. Wilkinson/Ms. Anderson. These kids are doing a great job learning this skill!

High growth and high achievement quartile again for our Thompson Trailblazers on the MAP winter assessment! The kids were rated #2 districtwide for “Median Student Growth” Percentile at 83 in math. Reading wasn’t too shabby either. Keep blazing a trail of success!

Shout out to Andrea Roach, a 2nd grade teacher at Tyrone Thompson, for reading “T’was the Night Before Christmas” to her students, past and present, this evening. Relationships OVER everything. #liveyourpurpose
