One DeGeorge story: at Rhodes, landing typical bigs was hard b/c so many local kids grew up playing TE, not power forward. He changed his style, ran a version of The System, avg’d 109 PPG, made the dance & had the No. 1 seed in a 6-pt game with 5:00 left. Highly adaptable guy!

1) The math has been laid bare here, again (and big teams have certainly lost games like this), but also… 2) Awesome for New Haven (and any school that size). If it’s a big deal on that campus and it brings even a handful of newcomers to the sport, that’s good for the game.

Selection Sunday or Undefeated Overtime is a close No. 3 (but not exclusive to college sports). Senior Day and Upset Alert are at 4-5 (though both have been undercut/misapplied more in recent years).
