Today BDMLR were alerted to a stranded Porpoise at Seaham. Volunteer medics included a mixture of old and new SeaScapes staff who knew the area well. The team managed to re-float the Porpoise and we hope that she can now continue to swim and feed along our amazing coastline 🐬

Great news!

Our FREE SeaScapes Coastal App is now LIVE & available on the AppStore.

The app will ping at key locations along the coast & provide interesting info on the place you're at AND locations of ship wrecks will provide info on the hidden heritage beneath the waves.

50 bags of rubbish mostly rope, plastic, metal, tyres and so much more! This represents a tiny % of what is in our seas.

A big thank you to the volunteers from PX Limited who carried out a beach clean today at Seaton Carew. We collected a total of 30 bags and removed equipment that would have quickly become an entanglement hazard for marine wildlife.

First beach clean on 2024! Lots of rubbish washed up on the shore - plastic, rubber, fishing related debris & this really creepy dolls face😱20 volunteers 37 bags of rubbish plus so much more added to the pile. Hard day but worth it to stop it all going back into the sea!

Seaham beach today. Over 100 bags of rubbish collected alongside at least 60 tyres, ghost fishing gear, hundred's of plastic bottles, rubber pipes etc etc.... It's never ending but we can't leave this rubbish on the beach destroying habitats and killing wildlife.☹️
