This was a very informative episode on a key barrier to clean energy deployment. As Tyler Norris noted, current discussions about "permitting" have almost nothing to say about the queue. Check it out.

I’ve read a lot of interconnection documents, but never came across a table summarizing the studies in plain English - so I made this one for my @FERC comments. nicholasinstitute.duke.edu/publications/c…

Great + instructive comments on FERC's Innovations and Efficiencies Generator Interconnection. Surprising to learn that "If an overload threshold of 100% (instead of 95%) is used, network upgrade costs fall by 15%".

At Nicholas Institute event at Duke University today. First session starting with projections about data center usage and how it could be 9% of electricity usage in America by 2030. Sitting next to Tyler Norris taking it all in. The Southeast will experience more growth than other states.

🔊 While use of renewables is surging, a modernized grid could enable more. The biggest challenge is coordinating the different players to invest, expand and update the grid at the same time, Duke Environment Ph.D. student Tyler Norris told Marketplace. marketplace.org/2024/09/17/ele…
