I just completed MITx Courses's 'Resolving Renewable Energy Disputes' online course, and I cannot recommend it enough! Especially the last module on mediation and consensus building methods. The course is available until July 13, 2024! mitxonline.mit.edu/courses/course…

Another year, another interconnection queue report from EMP at Berkeley Lab

Let's forward this finding to all those utilities saying they don't have enough capacity to meet load growth... guess what? It's stuck in the queues!

Neat coverage from Bloomberg on Infinium, a Houston-based startup pursuing e-fuels. This was my first time learning about what e-fuels are - definitely feel promising for decarbing aviation and other transport modes that cannot be easily electrified bloomberg.com/news/features/…

On my journey to better understand what industrial decarbonization is, this Canary Media article on green steel helped me a lot in learning what green steel is and where hydrogen and electricity are involved in the process. Good reporting!

On a webinar now learning about ENTSO-E's TEN-E program for interregional transmission, and wondering why the US can't have this 😭

TEN-E projects get streamlined permitting, EU funding, and clear cost allocation. A great model!

anyone know of a good resource (e.g., desktop extension) where I can track my hours toward different time codes in real-time? like I would click a button to start timing a certain task, then when I'm done, transition to another task and time that, etc.

: A reader who is about to make a career transition into renewables development and is looking for books that can demystify wholesale power markets and grids for him.

Recommendations?

Check out this awesome thread on the new report on reconductoring from EMP at Berkeley Lab and GridLab. Reconductoring seems to be a no-brainer - now we need to shift incentives and regulator mindsets to get advanced conductors deployed!

The next eclipse in the Lower 48 is in 2045. Pretty fun to imagine how the power grid will handle *that* event. Will we use batteries? Hydrogen? Gas + CCS?
